Print Design

A promotional brochure was the second design project that Match handled for Feeding The Fish and in many respects, is the most important aspect of their promotional strategy. They have performed at events such as the launch of the Porsche 911, and at Glastonbury festival, so this brochure had to appeal to bookers of these kinds of events and many others besides.

Posters & flyers

A nice chance to play with just the images. These were printed up at A2 and A7 respectively are used at festivals and shows whenever the Fish are performing.

T-shirts

Worn by the performers at all gigs and sold to the public as promotional items. The design had to be eye-catching, but also discreet enough to wear at corporate functions. They had to promote the brand, but not so obviously as people could be put off from buying and wearing them.

Photography

Photography was of vital importance in this job, as their performance really does defy easy description, and it was the most technically demanding aspect of this project. Their show is performed in almost complete darkness, and to accurately convey the nature of their performance, the props needed to be 'invisible' and the performers had to appear to be stationary whilst the light trails appeared to be moving. All of the photography for this job was done in-house by Matt.

So why was it difficult?
Long exposure times were essential to convey the movement of the show, but a standard rear-curtain flash to freeze the performers also froze the props, creating an unsightly effect. Matters were complicated further by the fact that each of their props uses a different integral light system and required different exposure times and ambient lighting set-ups.next page

Client Quote

Simon Mylius:

"As well as providing us with a multitude of options and creative ideas at every level, we greatly appreciate that you patiently listened to our rather constraining criteria and created a fantastic piece of publicity. It has no doubt contributed significantly to our success in the past 4 years.

"The fact that you took on board entire projects even including logistics of printing, delivery and so on whilst we were overseas was more than we could have hoped for."
